Open Source Bookstore and Library

May 15 - May 23, 2014 in Ijevan, Armenia ( started its Open Source Bookstore project implemented within the frames of EU funded SPACES project. The Open Source Bookstore is a public bookstore where printed press and books are freely distributed and exchanged. People are encouraged to not only take books but also donate interesting pieces from their personal libraries. The Open Source Bookstore operates parallel to the Open Source Library initiative, where group readings and discussions of articles, essays and other literary works are organized. Thus, the initiative aims at creating and facilitating a free space for reading, discussions and cultural exchange.
Ijevan is the first town to host the Open Source Bookstore and it is now available for the population of Ijevan until May 23.

The mobile multifunctional complex of Transformer: Culture on Wheels project, situated in front of Ijevan City Hall (Melikbekyan Street), serves as a perfect venue for the project.
